Events: 60 Meters, 200 Meters and Long Jump
Career Highlights: Ron Johnson was introduced to track and field in jr. high schoo by his older brother Melvin and has been running and affiliated with track and field ever since. He ran the anchor leg for Boys High’s (The High) national 4 x 440 championship relay and lead off leg for Johnson C Smith University’s victorious 4 x 200m relay in the 1967 Penn Relays Championships of America. Ron accepted an invitation to run the 200 in the 1972 Bermuda Championships. He tied the national record and became the all-comers record holder.
Ron’s other track and field roles were as follows: He was the NYC Youth Games head track coach for 2 years, the girls trackf coach at Andrew Jackson High School for 10 years; a board member of MAC (Metropolitan Athletic Congress) for 5 years and youth rep. for 2 years. He is serving his 17th year as a Colgate Women’s Games official (starter and timer) and presently a member of the coaching staff at Hunter College High School.
San Juan, PR held the Masters Invitational Pan American Games Oct, 1986. Ron became a master and won 3 gold and 3 silver medals in the 40-44 group;
Gold: Set Pan Am Games LJ record 20′ 5”, 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay
Silver: 100m, 200m, 400m
Twice MAC named him Most Outstanding Performer in the masters division in The New York Relays; he won all his events each time:

Ron is the 3 times Penn Relay 100m Champ and three times National 200m indoor Champ:

2010 Currently ranked 2nd to teammate Charles Ali in 60M and 3rd in the 200M.
